Child Haematology Oncology Centre wall graphics
The brief was to design a 10 metre long wall graphic (with 1 metre return into adjacent corridor) for the entry to the Child Haematology Oncology Centre at Christchurch Public Hospital: the children are going through a traumatic experience at a young age (up to 18 years old on this ward), and so the idea was to give them something bright, colourful, friendly and inspiring to take in as they walked past; all the outdoor activities pictured show children engaged in fun but nothing too demanding or out-of-reach for the aftermath of their treatment – the images are intended to provide ideas of what they can aim to achieve when they are well again.
